Innospec signs five year fully-managed payroll contract
International specialty chemicals company, Innospec, has signed a five year contract with MidlandHR for a fully-managed payroll solution. The payroll and HR specialist software provider will assume responsibility for the twice-monthly payroll for Innospec’s 370 strong staff across three UK locations from December onwards.

Steve Kitcher, Human Resources Manager at Innospec, said: “We are delighted to be partnering with MidlandHR. We liked their approach and felt confident they could deliver a quality, cost efficient fully managed payroll service within our set delivery timeframe.”

Epsom and Ewell Council embraces the Internet to drive HR efficiencies
Epsom and Ewell borough council are now live on MidlandHR’s iTrent HR and Payroll software solution. As MidlandHR’s iTrent is a single, web-enabled and browser-based solution, it has replaced an outdated system which utilised separate, manual HR and payroll systems. Payroll was previously outsourced to Surrey County Council, which involved laborious data entry at both locations. This development is now helping to build a partnership approach with local councils.

Absence Management Survey - Organisations Still in the Dark Over True Cost of Sickness
Even though three-quarters of UK employers agree that the real cost of sickness should be assessed in terms of lost revenue, only one in ten organisations interviewed for a new research report launched today, go beyond measuring just the wage bill for people who are absent. Surprisingly, one- third (33%) don’t even bother to assess sickness costs at all.
