QVC signs hosted payroll contract with MidlandHR
QVC, the televised home shopping specialist, reaching 22.5 million homes in the UK, has partnered with HR and payroll specialist, MidlandHR, signing a 5 year hosted payroll contract for iTrent, the web-enabled HR and payroll solution.
Commencing in April 2009, the contract will see MidlandHR managing the monthly payroll, in addition to running BACS and payslip printing for QVC’s 2,000 employees, spread across their London headquarters and their distribution and call centre in Liverpool
Once live on iTrent, QVC will experience many benefits including a large reduction in data entry and increased confidence that information is current and accurate. Through iTrent’s web-enabled self service facility, employees of QVC will have the ability to access current and backdated payslips as and when required, as well as view and manage personal details. This self service element will not only improve accuracy of data but also enable a faster, more efficient, payroll service.
Having seen over 13 demonstrations of various payroll systems, QVC shortlisted three suppliers, one of which was MidlandHR who shone to become QVC’s ideal supplier for their HR and payroll solution.
QVC’s financial controller, John Devlin, said: “MidlandHR proved they were able to meet QVC’s requirements, but in addition, were also able to incorporate cost code information and absence management calculations into the iTrent system. In the end, we were sold on the simplicity of the iTrent system; its ease of navigation as well as its detailed reporting of management information – all at the touch of a button. Furthermore, iTrent includes functionality for e-filing of year-end PAYE returns, a necessity in the run up to the April 6th 2009 mandatory deadline.”
After choosing MidlandHR to host payroll printing and distribution, the company will also be responsible for ensuring that the payroll application complies with any statutory requirements on behalf of QVC. The hosted payroll printing and distribution will prove valuable and cost effective to the home shopping specialist.
