Quality for customers, Quality for employees: SQS Group Limited overhauls payroll and HR with support from MidlandHR

Nottingham, 3rd February 2008 - SQS Group Limited, the largest independent software testing and quality management consultancy in Europe, is to align its European HR and payroll data and processes through the implementation of MidlandHR’s web-based Trent.
With 370 employees and 60 consultants spread over three countries, the need for not only an efficient but streamlined and integrated HR system was becoming apparent. “We had outgrown our existing payroll system in the UK and also had to re-think our HR capabilities in the Ireland office. In order for us to address these issues and support our growing workforce, the payroll and HR functions will now be integrated across the European offices through MidlandHR’s Trent. This will give us the capability to capture more up-to-date and accurate employee information which can be fed back into the business planning,” comments Scott Syme, project manager, SQS-UK.
SQS-UK will have access to all MidlandHR’s Trent HR modules, rolling-out the core HR and payroll functions – including people development and absence management – in the first phase of the project which is expected to take three months. The first payroll run is scheduled to coincide with the new financial year in April 2008.
Lawrence Knowles, managing director, MidlandHR adds “Trent’s integrated system will mean that SQS-UK can accurately track and manage employee information across multiple sites, and in this case, country borders too. By aligning its processes this way, SQS-UK will be able to use the intelligence gathered from all departments and offices to make insightful and informed strategic decisions to benefit both company and employee.”
